It is individual responsibility to face reality. Most people attempt to maintain a
delusion that "humans" are more noble than every other creature on this planet. Surely Mankind is
not.

I have hunted since the age of 12 when I shot my first deer. I have never avoided
or denied underlying sadness that accompanies killing an animal. I accept it, and facilitate respect for animals
in providing best environment for livestock, and improving habitat for wild animals. In throwing
the switch from friend to food, the choice of consciousness and accountability is enacted. Man belongs to the environment,
the environment does not belong to Man.
.
Emotions are products of thought processes. Ego
misidentification manfests dysfunction when thoughts about killing animals for food are assembled into a story of who
we are. Ego being one's "story" of how humans are noble. Surely I am not noble. How
could I be? I am not a story. Humans perpetuate a dysfunctional psychological need to be dislocated from
their food supply. The ego wants to be real. The individual suffers to "be the story". Ego
is always dysfunctional. Better to kill the ego and just "be".
.
Have you ever
considered a hypothetical "UFO analysis of the human race"? The Jimi Hendrix song "Third Stone From The Sun" portrays a UFO landing. Rationally,
aliens decide that the only intelligent lifeform on Earth are cackling hens. Responsibly, aliens decide
to "put an end" to Earth's civilization, stating: "and so you will never hear surf music
again". A moral story.

To the disappointment of some, I look forward to eating chickens.
However it remains my experience, that much can be seen when looking into the eye of a chicken. Someone definitely
looks back. Be it friend and food.
